Proposal for a redesign of the Old Tram Depot in Leith, Edinburgh into an office for a fashion accessories company, The VOLON. For this project I researched thoroughly into the practicalities of a working environment and how good design can create a successful, efficient and inspiring space for a company to operate and grow. It is designed to fulfil the needs of the day to day staff as well as being a space to receive and entertain important and influential clients in the creative industries. I understand that good designs shape people’s lives, influence their behaviour and must always have a purpose. Because of this everything that I do has the individual, community and environment in mind. In terms of the aesthetic and materiality of the design, I took heavy influence from the brand and its bold and forward thinking products. The interior is lively, textured and creatively inspiring - just as it should be for a company of this nature.
